It’s the Law: Click It or Ticket
Mothers Who Have Experienced Great Loss Urge All to Buckle Up
ORLANDO, FL — March 4, 2013: Wendy Grant and Lorisse Garcia, mothers of Laura Grant and Eddie Culberhouse will join the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to remind the motoring public the urgency of buckling up. Their children Laura and Eddie were killed in 2011 when the SUV they were driving went out of control on I-4. Several teens were in the vehicle and it was learned after the accident that most of them were not wearing their seatbelts.
Wendy and Lorisse will share their stories, and urge all drivers, especially teens to always wear their seatbelt. This serious reminder is in conjunction with the start of the “Click it or Ticket” campaign which begins on March 1. Drivers caught not wearing their seatbelts will have earned a $114 ticket. Major Ron Stucker and Major Cindy Williams will also speak on this issue and announce the date for the next DUI Enforcement campaign. Captain Mike Doby will speak on Operation Dry Spring, an effort that will crack down on those who drink, drive, or use drugs while in Central Florida on spring break.
