AWYS 5K

Have You Saved the Date for the AWYS 5K?

You are invited to join Always Wear Your Seatbelt Foundation in raising seatbelt safety awareness at our upcoming 2017 “Lace-Up to Buckle-Up” 5K Walk/Run. We host a 5K every year, and are tremendously proud of the support our foundation and cause has received from Orlando and beyond.

Virtual Race

Last year, one of our winners was a young Australian girl who traveled with her family for a vacation in Florida. While she was here, she learned about the 5K and signed up. Her epic run will not be forgotten anytime soon, and while she can’t be with us this year, she will be participating in our virtual 5K by running in her hometown while we are running here in Orlando. If you, like her, can’t be in Orlando on race day (April 8th, 2017), you can run virtually and help spread our lifesaving message.

5K Free For Kids

As always, kids (youth under 19) run for free. We’re dedicated to providing free race entry for children. Why? Because it is their lives we aim to protect by encouraging them to Always, Always, Always Wear Their Seatbelts. The importance of this message is more memorable for the young people who walk and run alongside us each year. If you are a teen, we encourage you to gather up a group of your friends and join us. It will be an unforgettable morning celebrating life and safety.

This is our annual fundraiser and 100% of the net proceeds will go towards our mission. Our mission is to save lives through raising awareness and educating teens to Always Wear Your Seatbelt, if not for yourself, for Laura & Eddie. Our foundation was founded in memory of Laura Grant and Eddie Culberhouse, who lost their lives in a tragic car accident on February 6, 2011.
